We all have an EGO.  My ego is one of my struggles.  I am currently in a 5 am "early to rise" challenge for which I committed myself to waking up at 5 am every single day for 30 days.  Today is day 10.  For the most part this has not been very difficult and quite frankly it is proving to be life changing.  I would highly recommend this challenge to everyone that finds there aren't enough hours in the day to get things done.  By waking up earlier every morning you can achieve the things you used to only dream about.  I said all of that to say this... This morning I woke up at 4:45 without an alarm (I have for the past 3 days).  While I woke up early and made the 5 am roll call my mind was telling me that I needed to rest just a bit longer.  So I closed my eyes and did not hop out of bed as usual.  Of course I was awake and just laying there thinking.  I listened to my morning pd (personal development) for the group.  I continued to be still and continued to think.  Suddenly I had an epiphany as I was lying there for no good reason other than just to have quiet time to myself.   EVERYTHING IS NOT ABOUT ME!

When I committed to a 5 am wake up challenge I did that for myself.  I wanted to be held accountable for getting up early.  Normally I get up early anyway but there were too many days that I felt like I was not getting up and doing the best that I could do every day to help me achieve my goals and I thought this group would help me with that and it most certainly has.  But I have learned from my fellow challengers that we are all human and have circumstances that are sometimes going to cause us not to be able to get right up at 5 am no matter how much we would like to rise and shine at that time every single day.  However this morning I wasn't staying in bed due to any uncontrollable circumstance.  I was staying in bed because I was being selfish.  By not getting up and tackling my day head first I was letting my challenge group down not just letting myself down.  I make excuses (you know excuses... those little lies you tell yourself to convince you that the bad choice you are making is justifiable) all the time to myself and this morning my excuse was that it wasn't hurting anyone but me.  In strolls epiphany and I jump out of bed and realize that it is time for an EGO CHECK!  This is how I check my ego... I simply say out loud (literally and I have a little hand gesture that I will do a video for soon) "SELF GET OVER YOURSELF".  And now ego is checked and I have snapped back into reality!!

You may be thinking that I am crazy and that I was only hurting myself and no one is going to care if I hop right out of bed or if I sleep my life away.  But that is where you are completely wrong.  Sure no one in my group would know so no harm there.  Sure my son, my co-workers, my family, my facebook friends and everyone else in the world who knows me would have no idea that I didn't just hop right out of bed and how could that possibly effect them?  The answer is simple.  By failing myself I am failing others.  By not being the best that I can be I am not working as hard as I can work to help others.  By lying in bed and being selfish instead of getting up and making the most of every hour available to me every single day for no other reason than that I don't want to is selfish.  I have hopes and dreams and goals that are not going to accomplish themselves.  I have people that I want to have great results in my upcoming challenge group that I need to be my best for.  My son needs a great role model so that he can live the best life available to him (and I definitely do not mean monetarily I mean the best life as in being a great human being) which means I have to lead by example.  My co-workers deserve a manager that is in control of not just our office but who is also in control of her life so that they can not just respect me but be inspired by me.  So after about 12 minutes of lying there with my eyes closed I hopped up and said "SELF GET OVER YOURSELF" and started this blog post because I am trying to keep it real with myself and everyone else.  Keeping it real in all aspects of my life has been a game changer for me and I encourage you to try keeping it real with yourself as well.  The best way I know to keep it real is to constantly remind me, myself and my ego that EVERYTHING IS NOT ABOUT ME!  I hope I have inspired someone and I hope you will inspire someone also.  Have a great day and thanks for being in my world to help keep me real!

XOXO

ARE YOU THE RAIN ON YOUR PARADE?

I have something that I want to confess.  One thing that I have learned over the past 5 months is that if I want to continue to improve to reach my goals I HAVE to KEEP IT REAL with myself and everyone else!  So, I am going to admit something that is very difficult for me to share (actually it is really hard for me to even admit to myself!).  I AM THE RAIN ON MY OWN PARADE!

For all of you that know me personally you know that I may seem like this overtly outgoing social butterfly but I am so far from that.  I am so extremely shy and it is a struggle for me to interact with people.  What I love about blogging is that I get to share stuff with people and you all have a choice as to whether or not you want to read my posts.  I can't see who reads them so unless you leave a comment on the blog post I will never know if you read my stuff or not!  When I shared this blog it was so hard for me to do emotionally because I was putting myself out there for the world to see and judge.  I quickly learned that there were actually people who were looking at my posts because I started to get a lot of personal messages on Facebook which was awesome but a little scary for me at the same time.  I am just a normal, average, regular, everyday person just like everyone else.  The difference between me and others is just that I am willing to put myself out there for the world to see and judge AND I have an overwhelming desire to succeed in all aspects of my life so I do not want to give this up!  What started out as a journey to get healthier and fit has evolved into so much more than I could have ever imagined!  By sharing my struggles and my life with the world not only am I staying on track with my health and fitness goals but I am also helping others do the same and I have also started a new career which is unbelievably rewarding in every way imaginable!!  Okay, okay I am getting to the big confession :)

CONFESSION;  I am so proud of myself for coming this far in my journey and for all of the things that I have accomplished and am still striving every day to accomplish!  However, I have an ongoing struggle that sometimes nearly gets the best of me.  By putting myself out there for the world to see and judge, THEY DO JUST THAT!  People are constantly judging me which is okay because by putting myself out there I know that is the price that I pay.  My struggle is with when people judge me negatively or when they just plain and simply do not like me.  The negativity is a hard pill to choke down and I am not going to lie it sometimes makes me want to just quit, retreat and stay in a bubble like I used to do.  I know that their opinions of me are irrelevant but they still get to me which is totally my own fault for letting them.  Me letting them effect ( I think I am using the correct word effect vs affect but feel free to judge me and correct me if I am wrong ) me is not them raining on my parade it is ME RAINING ON MY OWN PARADE!  It is so unbelievably hard to keep getting back up when I am getting knocked down so much.  But I REFUSE to let them get the best of me!  I AM NEVER GOING TO GIVE UP so this is how I have been handling the haters and their hate...  when they knock me down I calmly get back up, smile and very politely say "YOU HIT LIKE A BITCH" and I keep going!  MOST of the time that does the trick and gets me back on track!

So there you have it!  I have been struggling with that this morning so I thought I would share.  What are your struggles today?? I am keeping it real with you so feel free to keep it real with me :)

I so appreciate all of you who read my posts and follow my blog.  Much love and thanks to you!  HAVE A GREAT DAY :)

Believing In Yourself

Believing in yourself is the key to success.  To be all that you can be you must believe in yourself that you can make that possible.  Your belief in yourself must be unconditional like the love for your children.  If you don't believe in yourself no one else will be able to believe in you either.  But having unconditional belief in yourself is not always easy.  Haters are going to hate and try to drag you down.  Obstacles are going to get in your path which will make your journey more difficult.  At times you may feel doubt and question whether you really have it in you to achieve your goals.  All of those feelings are normal.  You cannot succeed without failures.  NO ONE  is perfect!  Doubt and fear are natural feelings and having those feelings just makes you human.  The key to overcoming those feelings and believing in yourself unconditionally lies deep within you.  The difference between successful people and those who do not succeed is that the successful people never give up on themselves.  Everyone has a bad minute, a bad hour, a bad day but if you want to succeed NEVER GIVE UP ON YOURSELF!!!  BELIEVE AND YOU WILL ACHIEVE!

It seems as if I started my post a little backward but I didn't.  You see I wrote the first paragraph because I am having doubts and fears but I refuse to give up.  I believe in myself and I believe I can achieve.  Sometimes I have to give myself pep talks too because life is not easy.  I will make today and great day and I will make things happen and not just let things happen to me today.  I am in control!

Now I am feeling ready to face the day!  Do you believe in yourself?  What do you do when you start having doubts?  I just keep repeating "NEVER GIVE UP ON YOURSELF!  BELIEVE AND YOU WILL ACHIEVE" until the doubts and fears pass (and I am not yelling at myself I am just saying those words with deep conviction because I know they are true!!).

BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!!!  YOU GOT THIS :)

XOXO

My Journey

Hello friends!  Today I realized that since I had finished my first round of T25 that I have not been posting on this blog much and I really miss this!  Before I started on my journey I started this blog for myself.  I never intended to share this blog with anyone I only wanted to document how I was feeling so I never went back to being that way.  I always watch the Biggest Loser and I love that they tape those people before they start their journey and then let them watch it at the end and that is what I wanted to be able to do.  For as long as I can remember I have always struggled with my weight and for the past 10 years it was just going from bad to worse.  My father died in 2007 from a sudden heart attack because of the poor choices he made with his health (he was an alcoholic, he chain smoked, he was overweight and completely out of shape... basically the epitome of unhealthy) and I didn't want that to happen to me.  I want to make sure I am around for my son for many, many more years to come!  I think everyone has heard my story and how I started my journey and what I look like today.  What you may not know is how different I feel and I want to share that with you.

Have you ever had an AHA moment?  When I was done with my first round of T25 (I still workout every day and do T25 along with Hip Hop Abs and PiYo) I decided to do something drastic and dye my hair back to as close to my original hair color as I could.  I am not sure exactly what possessed me to do that but for those of you who know me you know that I change my hair color frequently.  Frankly I would just get sick of trying to keep up with the color because my hair grow so fast and my roots were perpetually terrible.  This particular time when I dyed my hair dark something odd happened.  For the first time I didn't have the overwhelming urge to run to the store and buy color to turn my hair back to blond.  It wasn't for a few weeks that it hit me like a ton of bricks that all these years I have been changing my hair (as well as spending so much money and time doing things like tanning, buying new stuff for my house, buying clothes and so on) because I was trying to feel better.  And the reason those things weren't making me feel better was because changing my topical appearance or buying stuff were only temporary fixes and the instant gratification would wear off eventually and I would go back to feeling bad.  The difference between then and now is that now I am happy on the inside which is the result I was going for all that time but could not achieve.  See I wasn't happy with myself and no amount of makeup or hair dye could fix that.  If you aren't happy on the inside it does not matter what the outside looks like.  Finally I am happy with me and I love me and I feel great and I look great.  I will say I look great and hold my head up high while I say it because I have never thought that before!  Am I my ideal weight right now?  NO!  Are their improvements that I am still working on?  MOST DEFINITELY!!!  BUT, I am happy and that is the greatest feeling of all!

Now I can go back and look at my "BEFORE" video and be proud of myself.  And I will NEVER go back to being that person again as long as I live.  For me when I shared this blog because I was so happy with the results I was getting I had no idea how freeing that sharing could be.  And if anyone had told me that I would inspire someone else I would have never believed you.  I am literally tearing up as I type this because I know that I have inspired people, and those people have inspired people and the giant snowball of my inspiration just keeps rolling downhill picking up steam and growing exponentially which is pretty awesome.  Becoming a coach and helping others do the same thing as me and spending every day inspiring and motivating and reaping the rewards of what just started as a little blog I was doing for myself is overwhelming.  I am truly blessed and my soul is overflowing with joy.  I care so much about everyone and I hope that everyone finds their joy before it is too late.  You deserve it all!  Revel in your triumphs and use your failures as a catalyst for success for without failures you will never truly be successful.  Glenda the good witch from the Wizard of Oz said it best "You've always had the power my dear you just had to learn if for yourself".

Thanks for going on my journey with me and trust me it is not over so I hope you will stay with me!  Have a great week!

Shakeology Testimonials by Real Customers

Susan Bevans Brown I was taking heartburn preventative for 2 years. After 3 weeks of Shakeology I don't take it any more. It's been 4 months so far.

Randa Derkson I had chronic hives from July - January. I couldn't leave my house, they were so bad and painful. A week on Shake-O - they were gone.

Katie Lesoine With TF/Shakeology I dropped 45lbs, 29 inches, and cut my daily insulin in half (I am a type 1 diabetic).

Ali Goodman Shakeology helped me drop my cholesterol from over 200 down to 152. And I no longer have migraines. Completely gone after 2 months of drinking it daily. AND as an IBS sufferer I've never been regular until Shakeology.

Kristin VanVorce James I ran for 2 years and never had results like I did after 1 round of TurboFire. Plus I haven't had a single sickness since drinking Shakeology...boy even a sniffle for over a year.

Shereen Daly I started working out, I started ShakeO... I took the pictures and the measurements - I saw the changes and I started eating better and had more focus and energy. The last month or so have been busy for me and I can tell you that I have NOT worked out consistently and I haven't been drinking my shakes - energy and drive is down but I'm 2 days back in and feeling better already. AND - I suffer from seasonal allergies EVERY year... none this year and rarely sick. Every spring and summer I suffer from severe sneezing, itchy, watery eyes... And - I teach dance and am around kids ages 3 and up every single day... no stomach bugs, no flu, no nothing this year - not even a cold. I moved to the country in the fall - more grasses and pollens, etc. - no problems for me - no sneezing, etc. The one big change I can attest it has to be due to... Shake O.

PLEASE READ... I NEED YOUR HELP :)

HAVE YOU FOUND YOUR CALLING IN LIFE YET?  Well I have FINALLY found mine and what I KNOW I was born to do BUT I NEED YOUR HELP PLEASE :) ! <3

If you follow me at all on Facebook you know that I have been on a journey to better myself for the past few months.  In the midst of my transformation I found that I was inspiring and motivating people to start their own journeys just by sharing my story and being open and honest about what I have struggled with and how I am overcoming those struggles.   Helping people is helping me to stay my course and also gives me an immense joy that I cannot explain in mere words.  I made the best decision of my life when I decided to turn that passion for helping people into a career and started my own business.  In order to grow my business I am reaching out to my awesome network of friends and family for support (like you:-)).

As you may or may not know my mother has been permanently disabled since the age of 39 and has lived on her small disability checks for going on 26 years now.  On top of that she has had to deal with my sister and my nephew's never-ending battles with drug addiction which has rendered her virtually without a life of her own.  My dream is to one day be able to help my mother and give her the things she never had the opportunity to earn for herself.  I also dream of being able to give my son a better life and for myself to have a career of which I can be proud.  Which brings me to my new business.  After deciding to commit myself to my passion for helping others I joined Team Beachbody and could not be prouder of what I am accomplishing every day with this crazy awesome company.  The super cool thing about this company is everything we do it is to help people grow as people and to become better for themselves, their families and their communities.  This is only my second month with this company and they are having a contest for their coaches because the more success we have in our businesses means the more people we have succeeded in helping.  How cool is that?  I have never had a job this sweet!  So in order to try to prove that I am a ROCKSTAR I need to help as many people as I can this month which is where I am asking for your help.  I want to be a top coach which means I will be able to help many, many, many people.  I have ran challenge groups on Facebook and have been helping 3 or 4 people at a time and that is awesome but I need to go big.  YOU KNOW ME and you know that I have to be the best at whatever I am doing and this job in particular is very close to my heart and I want to kill it.  So I brainstormed and came up with this awesome idea to have a challenge group that instead of individuals it will be made up of teams of 2 who will compete against other teams of 2 to win bragging rights and some really cool prizes while getting healthier and working toward their personal goals.  I have a short video if you are interested in helping me out and joining my group that I would love to send you to watch to learn more about the group.  If you are not interested NO WORRIES!!!  Above all else you are my friend and I want to remain friends for many years to come :)  And if you want to start you own journey but just aren't interested in having to purchase anything I would be too happy to point you in the right direction and support you however I can because I believe that helping people is what I was meant to do!! However, if that is not something you need or want to do at this time and/or you are just not interested in the challenge for yourself I would love for you to refer me to anyone who you know that might be interested.  I have a burning fire in my belly to reach my hand out to anyone who needs it and to make everyone know that they are not alone in their own struggles!  AND I have a desire to make myself a success for myself, my mother and my son!!

Thank you so much for generously giving me your time and letting me tell you about my story.  I am lucky to have people like you in my life!!!  If you are interested in watching my video let me know or if you would like to just chat on the phone please feel free to comment below or message me on Facebook and I would be happy to send you my number!!!  Let me know a time that works for you and I will be available!

Enjoy your holiday weekend and I look forward to hearing from you soon!!!
